I will point out that though they're re-organised for the web app, and there are only a subset of the main tools available compared to SketchUp Pro or even SketchUp Make, the ones which are present do function as expected, and though it's a bit clunky having to long-press to get related tools, it's still a very intuitive approach to modeling for 3D novices. As you see in this super-quick screencap, when you long-click on the Move tool, you see all three translate tools: Move, Rotate, and Scale. The second way through which you can mirror any object is through the scale tool of SketchUp. you need to use the translate tools to accomplish this kind of task. Of course you can translate your mesh any way you'd expect: scale, rotate, move. Note also that this operation (Flip Along Component's own axis) will never translate the component in the world axis space - it maintains the same world position and flips relative to its own centrepoint and exterior bounds. once I added a small plate at one corner, then you could see the component flip along its axis. 10.0 20171218 Highlighting is retained with mirrored-copy, even when original is deleted. By far the best solution is to have the closed ouliner-and a question. However if only mirror the components / groups (not duplicate) sketchup is not closed. 11.0 20181212 Re-signed for All SUp versions compatibility. 11.0 20181212 Re-signed for All SUp versions compatibility. Sketchup is closed only when the mirror and duplicate the components / groups. Mirror selected objects by picking 1/2/3 points to define a point/line/plane: then choose to Keep/Delete the original objects. Use our free web app to create seamless textures, bump maps and CAD. 3D SketchUp Community for Design and Engineering Professionals. Note that I demonstrate in my screencap that when the component was symmetric along that component, you couldn't tell it had been flipped. Architextures is a library of textures and materials for architects and designers. View the text File Uploaded to visit the Sketchup support link for Mirror Help and to Visit the Site to download the Mirror Plugin. And then of course I need to move the objects probably a couple of times to get them into position.I'm sorry to report that I cannot confirm your trouble, as when I tried web SketchUp, entered into Component Edit mode, and chose Flip Along>Green Direction I got the expected result. Then you will need to pick the 3 points that define the mirror plane, and at the end you will have te option to choose to either keep or erase the source object. So I'm just going to arbitrarily rotate it around some point. SketchUp Mirror is a process through which you can reflect any object to the opposite side of it for different types of purposes. The problem with rotate is that it requires an axis and when we have these objects selected we don't really know where the center is. Your first instinct might be to rotate it, let's try that. 164 downloading and editing, 163 Flip Along, mirror with, 163164 Scale tool, mirror with, 164 staircase, drawing, 147 linear array, 148149 vertical. So obviously this orientation isn't going to work for us. So I'm going to start by selecting this chair and this desk and copying it into the office adjacent. And then just navigate in here and you'll see that this central office is missing the furniture. I'd like to have some practical examples so I'm going to select this object and hide it. And you may notice there is no dedicated mirror tool so you're sort of left to your own devices in terms of figuring this out. There are a number of ways through which you can mirror any object or component in this software. When working with SketchUp components, a mirror tool is a must-have SketchPlus gives you the tools to manage your component library and edit components with ease Change the component axes location to one of 27 preset locations with the Change Axes+ tool, a much-needed complement to the built-in axes tool. This week I'm going to discuss mirroring objects. SketchUp Mirror is a process through which you can reflect any object to the opposite side of it for different types of purposes.
